Aquatic Accommodation

Interacting with the Sealife at the Atlantis

When staying at the Atlantis, The Palm resort, all staying guests are treated to free aquarium access! Our daughter loves walking through the hotel grounds, making new friends such as stingrays, piranhas, sharks, seahorses - and how can we forget, finding Nemo! As a hotel guest, you also get free entry to the Lost Chambers Aquarium, which is home to 65,000 marine animals. This famous aquarium is designed around the theme of the Lost City of Atlantis, transporting guests into a lost civilisation of shipwrecks and ruins

Sightseeing & Attractions

Watching a Fountain Dance to Michael Jackson’s Thriller

There’s something quite satisfying about watching several beams of water shooting 500 feet into the air to the rhythm of Michael Jackson’s Thriller music. As it’s the World’s largest fountain show (right in front of the World’s tallest building), it gets busy at show times but your view is never obscured because of the sheer size of the fountain. This over-the-top fountain show is definitely worth a watch at least once if you’re in Dubai

Luxury Hotel Restaurants

Enjoying Turkish Cuisine at The Versace Hotel

As a guest at the Palazzo Versace Dubai hotel, we can personally guarantee that you’ll be treated to first class cuisine. We love all of their restaurants, but Enigma is our favourite. Located on the lobby level of the Palazzo Versace hotel, Enigma brings Turkish cuisine to life in a new and creative way which is sure to captivate the diners’ imagination. Enigma has both indoor and outdoor seating that offers beautiful views of Dubai Creek and the hotel’s main lagoon pool. Popular dinner options include Short beef ribs, Lamb neck with 7 spices, and Wagyu beef kofta

Nightlife & Cocktails

Dinner and Drinks Under Arabian Skies

One of the amazing things about when we’ve stayed at the Four Points by Sheraton Hotel on Sheikh Zayed Road is that we could just hop in an elevator and within seconds we’d be transported to possibly the coolest hotel bar we’ve ever seen. Level 43 Sky Lounge served us our first-ever meal in Dubai (after a long flight and late arrival) - spicy chilli chicken with a cucumber salad and sticky coconut rice... just wow!

Attractions / Romance

Watching the Sunset Over Dubai

If you’ve used our “Go To Rio” and “Go To Paris” apps, you will know that Nat is a huge fan of sunsets, so whenever we travel it is a must that we find the very best spot to watch the sun go down! Levels 124, 125 and 148 of the Burj Khalifa do not disappoint, and there is something very calming about observing deafeningly silent human silhouettes against an Arabian sunset backdrop. We haven’t done it ourselves, but we’ve heard great things about watching the sunrise from here, which you can do from 5:30am

Taking a Cheap Abra Cruise Across Dubai Creek

We love boat tours and river cruises because we see them as the most relaxing way to sightsee. So when we stumbled upon this water taxi (Abra) and found out that it costs only 1 dirham to cross Dubai Creek, we now treat it like a tour of the Creek - a very cheap cruise indeed! The main purpose of the Abra is to transport passengers between Bur Dubai and Deira

Shopping

Shopping ‘til we Drop at the World’s Largest Mall

If you love shopping and eating (like we do), then you can’t NOT love Dubai Mall - it seems to have every shop under the sun! Not only are we impressed by the mall’s spectacular aquarium (the largest in the World), but the vast selection of restaurants and cuisines is the biggest we’ve ever seen under one roof... not to mention some of our favourite stores, Sephora (!!), MAC, Armani Exchange, Burberry Children, Paul Smith and Ralph Lauren. This place is extra special to us as it is where we bought our baby’s first ever outfit when we were 5 months pregnant!
