The word “Muraka” comes from Maldives' Dhivehi language, and it translates to “coral” in English. Muraka is the perfect name for this restaurant as it is situated above a live coral reef on Mirihi Island resort's lagoon. This overwater dining experience is popular with guests who wish to enjoy unrestricted views of the spectacular Maldivian sunsets. Muraka Restaurant strives to provide the perfect culinary experience with a delicious contemporary menu. Guests can look forward to rich offerings such as wagyu beef, triple gin seared beef tomahawk steak, and Maldivian lobster. To accompany your meal, the restaurant also offers an excellent selection of wines and Champagne. Wednesday is lobster night at Muraka! Enjoy fresh, locally-caught lobsters from the South Ari Atoll in this weekly seafood feast. Another of the restaurant's signature dishes is yellow fin tuna tartare. Muraka is proud to serve only the finest quality yellow fin tuna. Caught by local fishermen and brought directly to their kitchens, this delicious seafood is then prepared with a combination of capers, pickled ginger, balsamic onions, wasabi and chilli aioli by talented chefs. This creative dish is served with Melba toast on the side.
